1. Select targeted keyword phrases

First of all, select the right targeted keywords for your web page. Please don’t do the mistake of selecting the most popular keywords. Instead you can use Google’s keyword suggestion tool to select the most appropriate variations considering both popularity as well as competition. You can assume the ratio of keyword search volume divided by numbers of competitors. I call it Keyword Effectiveness. Of course the keyword phrases should be related to your website content as without that the entire search engine optimization process will be pointless.

After that all the new or young sites will need to be implemented on each of the website pages individually don’t only do SEO on your homepage. Each web page should be separated in your web content’s archives then you can select the targeted keyword and generate the title based on that keyword group also.

2. Write a killer title tag to get traffic from search engine

The meta title tag is showed on the visitor’s browser in the border of the viewable screen as the visitor is viewing your website. This serves as an anchor so that the visitors know where they are on your website. For this reason, your page title tag needs to be clear and related to each page’s content and should include bread crumb or mouse trail information.

The title tag is also used by the search engines as the most important piece of information available in order to help visitors to determine the topic of your page, and thus to determine the ranking of your page in their search results. Given that, the title tag is the most important factor in your page’s ranking. If your Web Page Title Tag has presented researchers with a well written title, your site will be clicked and reviewed faster.

3. What is the maximum length of a title tag?

Meta Title Tips: Internet explorer displays the first 95 characters of your title tag. For title tags longer than 95 characters, Internet Explorer will simply crop the tag, as you can see it has done to the title of this Web page. But Google robots may read and crop only 60 characters while yahoo robots will show your title on search result only 80 characters. So what is the maximum length of a title tag that we should write? It depends on your decision and your page content also. According to Google and Yahoo robot reading, I think a maximum length of 60-80 characters might be your best choice. I always select only a few keyword phrases for each page. Don’t forget to put the most important targeted keyword phrase first in the order on title tag then put the second one next to it. Finally follow up with the third one. Please make sure that it’s not too long.

4. What is the proper formatting for a title tag?

For example:-
My targeted keywords for this article are

After I need to think about how to highlight my targeted keyword in the content to improve keyword density. Targeted Keywords need to be place in headings as HTML code below:-

<h1>How to Improve Your Keyword Ranking?</h1>

<ul style="list-style:none">
<li><a href="#howto" title="How to Improve Your Keyword Ranking?">How to Improve Your Keyword Ranking?</a></li>
<li><a href="#keyword-ranking" title="Keyword Ranking">Keyword Ranking</a></li>

</ul>

It will be good for visitors to know where they are if I create an internal navigation or breadcrumbs above the main heading or H1. eg.
Home > Our Blog > SEO > How to improve your keyword ranking?

What is keyword density? (From Wikipedia)

Keyword density is the measurement in percentage, the number of times a keyword or phrase appears compared to the total number of words in a page. In the context of search engine optimization keyword density can be used as a factor in determining whether a web page is relevant to a specified keyword or keyword phrase. Due to the ease of managing keyword density, search engines usually implement other measures of relevancy to prevent unscrupulous webmasters from creating search spam through practices such as keyword stuffing.

How to improve keyword density?

 As I was saying about Title tags above, there are other ways to improve density of keywords by using bold text, italic text, underline text and also normal style text for each targeted keyword. Inside the content page, if there is some technical text that you also have the articles for, do not forget to make it linkable to that article. If there are plenty of internal links on your site, it will help you get better position on search engines.

There are so many free keyword density analyzer tools on the net. It’s simple to use and can help you to identify your density and help your page to avoid becoming spam. If you have any terms that exceed 15%, you run the risk of being penalized by the search engines. Review your web page copy and either add additional relevant text or reduce the usage of the term/s to reduce their density on your web page.

The tip for keywords tag is the same as meta tag description but on a few search engines keywords tag is a low priority for robots to crawl. Robots may ignore your keywords tag.
