We offer website hosting through our high performance Windows server at iWeb. iWeb datacenter is located in Quebec Canada and the speed, reliability and security of the server is as good as any high end dedicated server host.

For customers located outside America, we recommend opening an account in the local country or area and we can help set up a host that will meet or exceed what should be considered as minimum requirements.

We like to help our customers understand the web development process and encourage our clients to study our website, articles on our site and other sources to develop a basic understanding of the web design process. Of course it is up to the individual and if there is a limited technical understanding on the client side then we appreciate that it is not necessarily your business - but it is ours. If you are looking for the most basic website to keep a travel log for family or post some photos then, yes, the free templates may work well for you. Be very cautious though if you are a business. We have had clients come to us saying they have a website but need a few changes. The changes are if fact wholesale redesign because the template sites are not at all appropriate for a business. Remember that a cheap looking site with limited features will only reflect poorly on your business and will never reach the desired potential as a marketing tool.

We have a fairly broad cross section of design disciplines here in our offices. I suppose we would like to be considered to have specific strength in the area of creating dynamic applications to help make clients websites full featured and functional. We can create about any application that can be imagined and specialize in ecommerce sites, listing databases, content management systems, site forms, forums, and many other smaller PHP designed applications.

There are several options for transferring data, the most common will be to send content items via email or uploaded direct to the site using a simple file transfer process. Other options will be image CDs, faxed content or to transfer files via our online collaboration web space.

Most often, our projects will be divided into 3 phases. The first phase is a conceptual phase and you will have a better feeling for our approach and we will have a clear direction following this phase. Following our Phase 1 you will typically be asked to pay 30% of the estimated total cost. Following our Phase 2, you will conceptually have a website and we will be heading into the production phase. At this time we typically require a further 30% payment. The balance of payment is due upon completion of the site and fulfillment of the job requirements.

Payment can be made via direct bank transfer (Thai or Canadian accounts), debit card in Canada, or by PayPal.

This will depend on the scope of the project. A smaller site that is serving a small business or enterprise can take only 1-2 weeks. A larger site or ecommerce site can take 1-2 months (or more) to complete and will often require some level of follow-up maintenance. Naturally, any changes in design, content, or delays in providing information will affect our timing for site completion.

Web Design Edge offers a user friendly content management system for customers to update the website themselves. This is an optional design feature but is not an expensive feature considering you will be that much more independent from developers and able to control your own content changes and additions.

Web Design Edge will assign a project manager for each job, who would be available to the client whenever required. Also, it is in our best interest to seek regular feed back and signoff on design concepts.

This will all be laid out in a project management plan and it is most likely that we will be in very regular contact and monitoring status will not be an issue.

Web Design Edge will provide you with email addresses, phone numbers, and Skype accounts. We will also be setting you up with access to our online collaboration feature where you will be able to review and comment on concepts throughout the design process. We will also provide access to regular online updates so you can see progress of your site as it comes together and provide us with feedback.
